Weinmans famous Walking Liberty design draped with the American flag over her shoulders, walking towards the setting sun with her right arm extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left, which was minted on US Silver Half-Dollars between 1916 and 1947.

In October of 2020, to mark the upcoming 35. Anniversary of the American Eagle coins, the US Mint revealed new reverse designs for both gold and silver versions! Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) designer Jennie Norris created the new gold coin design, while AIP designer Emily Damstra created the new silver design. Along with the redesign, new anti-counterfeit security measures were included along the reeded edge.

The enhanced obverse side further features Weinmans signature consisting of his initials. The coins reverse side features a new depiction of the American Eagle in a more realistic and life-like position. The Eagle seems to be flying down with its majestic wings outstretched, carrying an oak branch in both talons, which is the national tree of the United States of America and a renowned symbol of strength. Along with the American Eagle redesign, the reverse side of the coin features inscriptions of the Latin phrase "E Pluribus Unum" meaning "In God We Trust", along with country, weight, purity, and denomination.
