1986 Silver Eagle, Mint Error PCGS MS64, Struck on 3M Emory Disc, Super Rare. LESS THAN 20 KNOWN TO EXIST! A silver eagle whose obverse was struck through an unpeeled emery disc. An emery disc struck between the obverse die and a silver eagle planchet.

The emery disc overlapped one side of a silver eagle planchet before the strike, and the two were fed together for the strike. The emery disc separated from the coin after the strike. The obverse shows the dark gray/blue color and granular texture of the emery disc, but all major design details are perfectly evident, including the date. The finely-grained tan-brown reverse shows only a faint incused and reversed impression of the obverse, as struck through the disc, along with a couple of letters and numbers as printed on the emery disc prior to the strike. Very High Grade, SUPER RARE ERROR!
