PCGS MS69 445th to Last Coin Struck. 35th Anniversary At Dusk & Dawn 445th to Last Coin Struck. First issued in 1986 the American Silver Eagle has become far and away the most collected modern silver coin in the World!

Each coin is struck from 1oz of. Over the years, several different varieties of Silver Eagles have been struck (Mint State, Proof, Burnished, Reverse Proof & Enhanced) but one thing that had remained unchanged was the design. The obverse had always featured Adolph Weinman's classic Walking Liberty design along with the inscriptions "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year. The reverse, designed by the 12th U.

Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti, depicts a heraldic eagle with a shield. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", 1OZ. FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR also encompass the reverse. In 2021, for the first time in 35 years, the classic American Silver Eagle was updated with an enhanced obverse design and a brand new reverse design! However, before production could begin on the new Type 2 Silver Eagle, production had to come to an end with the original design which is now referred to as the Type 1 Silver Eagle.

To celebrate this transition, in April of 2021, a ceremony was held at the West Point Mint to strike the last 500 type 1 Silver Eagles and the first 500 of the new type 2 Silver Eagles! This ceremony was led by former Director of the United States Mint David J. Ryder, as he personally operated the presses that produced each Silver Eagle for this historic event. The ceremony marked the transition from the Dusk of a golden age, to the Dawn of a new era of artistic excellence.

It has been certified MS69 by PCGS! In addition it has been verified as the 445th to last Type 1 Silver Eagle struck at the 35th Anniversary At Dusk & At Dawn Event!
