COA's #0014 & #0015. In case you're new to numismatics or more specifically, Australian coinage, the Wedge-Tailed Eagle (WTE) was first struck in 2014, and it's Designer was none other than the Designer of the American Silver Eagle Reverse and 12th Chief Engraver of the U. It was the talk of the hobby that a U. Mint Designer, who was retired at the time, had ever worked with another world Mint in the design of a new coin design. The collecting world eagerly awaited for John Mercanti's vision of the Australian WTE, and he didn't disappoint. The reverse has been designed by John Mercanti ever since. The 2023 5 Oz Wedge-Tailed Eagle.

While the mintage figures of the larger strikes (2 Oz, 5 Oz, 10 Oz, and Kilo) have always been low, this years' 5 Oz version has an eye-popping mintage of just 1,000 coins! That mintage figure isn't enough for the country of Australia alone!

Yet this is a Commemorative that is popular World-wide. Dealer allocation was minuscule at best.

My examples have been graded by NGC as perfect PF70 Ultra Cameo's with the First Day of Issue pedigree along with John Mercanti's signature. While Mercanti's design graces the coins' reverse, the Perth Mint has decided to use the effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse throughout 2023. There is even the dates of her reign as Queen on the coin of 1952 - 2022. This stunning coin comes complete with outer box and Premium Quality black Perth Mint Presentation & Storage box.

I have #'s 0014 and #0015. Again, this is out of a mintage of 1,000. What's not to like?
