All coins have been certified by ANACS as MS70 with the First Strike pedigree and fineness of 0.999 silver, weighing 1 oz. It features a privy mark of the Constitution and is part of a special edition set of American Silver Eagles. The coin is struck in Mint-State condition by a U. Mint Press and is a valuable addition to any coin collection, especially for collectors interested in patriotism, our nations' 250th Semiquincentennial, and unique commemorative coins of MS70 Quality. This is only the 2nd time in 27 years that I've listed a coin graded by ANACS.

Not because there's anything wrong with ANACS, but let's be honest. Their image the past 20 years has taken a hit with rise of NGC and PCGS, From there, the reasons are many. But ANACS also steps out from the 2 big boys in that they grade those coins that are a bit "different".

This Silver Eagle is no exception. This might be quite an education for much of you that do read this.

It was relayed to me by a well-known Numismatist with 40+ years of experience and is an. Daniel Carr is a retired press operator at the Denver Mint. After retirement, he became aware that a Press at the Denver Mint was up for sale. After all, he had been working presses at the very same "D" Mint for many years. Mint strikes, coin-by-coin, and those that were obvious errors such as these coins' here on this listing.

Only he did it by adding a "D" since the coin was actually struck on an actual U. Mint/ Denver location press, and the press is located in Denver.

It is "authentic" or ANACS wouldn't grade them. NGC and PCGS just don't grade modern hand-stamped issues, I guess, but they are recognized as legitimate U.
