The 2025 Silver Eagle with the first-ever eagle privy mark is more than a beautiful coin-it's a culmination of decades of innovation by Ron Harrigal, the former U. Mint Director of Design and Engraving. With a career spanning over 35 years, Harrigal was the driving force behind modern numismatic breakthroughs, including the 2020 V75 Silver Eagle and the 2021 Morgan Dollars with CC and O privy marks. These innovations helped usher in a new era of design where security, detail, and symbolism could be seamlessly integrated into U. Harrigal led the charge to incorporate advanced laser technology into the Mint's die-making process, allowing for micro-detailing that traditional engraving simply couldn't achieve. "We engraved micro details on master dies in the form of privy marks that would not reproduce well through traditional engraving techniques, " Harrigal explained.
